If you have any plans to pay the visitor for expenses while at the U of A, there are restrictions, particularly if the visitor is a foreign national and then depending on the type of visa and work status he/she holds. Generally speaking, honoraria are not possible and most expenses may only be reimbursed from original receipts up to a limited amount ($600).
